Job: Regional Director of Sales, Greater China

Location: Shanghai

Report Line: Vice President, Commercial, Greater China

Responsibility:

  • Provide Leadership for the Greater China Regional Sales Teams in 5 locations, currently in Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Chengdu and Guangzhou.
  • Leads strategic thinking on creating an effective and efficient sales organization – on and off property, tailored to the growth opportunities within the region, such as new brand launches, system size growth and continuous growth within the market in tier 3 and 4 locations.
  • Continually evaluates returns from regional sales, and determines emerging market potential and subsequent resource allocation. Supports the ongoing communications with hotels and key stakeholders to demonstrate how the Regional Sales Team priorities support and integrate with the regional and sub regional business plans.
  • Responsible for obtaining input from key stakeholders on performance and output of Regional Sales and to continually enhance partnership with the Sub Regional teams, Operations and other functions in S&M.
  • Support new hotel openings in the region to ensure effective business ramp up. Work closely with sub regional teams and New Hotel Opening Performance Team to indentify business opportunities within the regional sales account portfolio across all segments.
  • Owns the effective implementation of Worldwide Sales initiatives within Greater China off-property and on-property sales teams. Represents Greater China at key Worldwide Sales strategy forums to ensure Greater China input is incorporated into global sales planning.
  • Ensure Global Sales Programmes that are rolled out in the region is locally relevant through China-Ready / Hotel-Ready process, Responsible for the prioritization of sales programmes implementation focusing on the essentials that would support the system size growth in the region enhancing hotel’s enterprise value.

Requirements:

  • Degree level education.
  • 8+ years sales experience, hotel industry preferred
  • Experience in China and / or other emerging markets
  • Performance focused
  • Outstanding communication and leadership qualities

  • Astute commercial acumen and analytical ability
