Job: E-Commerce Operations Manager

Location:  China

Reports To:  E-commerce Direct

Responsibility:

Strategic Planning:

Align with corporate priorities and participate in setting strategic plans for digital commerce

  • Provide inputs/insights base on historical information, current trends & experiences to help evolve our E-Commerce business
  • Identify issues and opportunities, leverage resources, and propose business solutions

Day-to-Day Operations:

  • Partner with key vendors to ensure the site is up-to-date and accurate
  • Work with our product team to provide site merchandising direction to vendors on a seasonal basis
  • Coordinate the detail work with various functions to ensure the business is operating smoothly
  • Review and analyze online market/trend data to help make key business decisions
  • Provide some level of analytical insights base on data gathered and reports provided by our analytics partner.
  • Work closely with our vendors to trouble shoot issues
  • Partner with all functions/departments to deliver ensure seasonal workload is completed and ready for seasonal launches

Season Calendar & Process Management:

  • Work across functional team to plan and execute our seasonal Go-To-Market strategy – product design & creation, marketing initiatives, digital assets, merchandising assortment
  • Provide inputs into our demand planning & inventory management process & plan to ensure product closeout strategy & the buy plan is executed appropriately
  • Provide forecast base on prior results and other factors
  • Review and track sales performance and ensure the result is in-line with fiscal plan

Online market awareness / market development:

The consumer decides

  • Have a good grasp on the market trend, consumers online behaviour and buying preferences & be able to influence products, brand and business decision base on those understands
  • Have a good grasp of what other online retailers’ activities and be able to provide insights & input into our overall online marketplace management to minimize counterfeits and unauthorized sales

Communication / Cross Functional Integration:

Maximize the business result through integrated resources and cooperation

  • Develop strong working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Build awareness and understanding of the inter relationship between functions
  • Coordinate in advance with all functions to ensure the “go to market” solutions will be successful

Requirements:

4-year/university Degree (e.g. Bachelor’s)

Minimum Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the E-Commerce business with detailed operational experience
  • Some merchandising experience
  • Some demand planning & inventory management experience

Minimum Skills

Technical:

  • Results Orientation is a must
  • Marketplace Management is critical
  • Business Analytical skills & Profitability analysis
  • Creative Problem solving skills for complex business issues
  • Sound decision making

Communication/Language:

  • High quality verbal communication, especially around strategic direction
  • High Level Presentation Skills to all levels of the Retailers organization
  • Must be able to ask questions, and elicit information
  • Strong negotiation skills in tense situations, as well as resolving conflict
  • Relationship Building both internally in company and with retailers
  • Good English skills are strongly preferred.
