Job: Construction Manager

Location:  China

Reports To:  Supplier Quality Director

Responsibility:

• Coordination with Design team
• Liaise with Landlords regarding delivery requirements
• Effective reporting to Upper Management informing key stakeholders of project status
• Management of Construction Delivery Process
• Partner and align with Procurement Process
• Partner and align with Cost Management Process
• Mentor direct reports to achieve professional progression
• Ensure effective communication lines are established and maintained
• Implement and manage effective Quality Assurance Standards
• Manage a handover process to end users
• Review and update of construction delivery process to mitigate risk and implement efficiencies
• Ensure sufficient and suitable contractor supply to meet with aggressive expansion demand needs
• Update, interview and review new contractors / suppliers to ensure capabilities meet with Burberry standards
• Manage Deliverable ‐ensure projects are delivered on time within agreed timeframes
• Manage Expectation‐ensure senior management/stakeholders are up to speed on progress/any risk/VOs, close‐out of projects.
• Internal Architecture Team alignment‐connecting effectively with team members’ effective display of being a good team player.
• Brand Representation‐Ambassador to the brand & inculcates the brand as the beacon, be seen as the brand’s representative to external parties.
• Upper level management Reporting on progress of projects
• Other Burberry departments (Design, VM, Security, IT) Coordinating project requirements
• Landlords, Government Departments Collate and execute delivery requirements
• External Stakeholders (Wholesale/Franchise Partner/Travel retailer) Manage projects in collaboration with external stakeholders

Requirements:

Degree or Diploma in the following:

• 8‐10 yrs experience
• Construction/Building Management
• Ability to understand design drawings detail including knowledge and experience of coordinating architecture and engineering disciplines.
• Project Management in Building and Property
• Certificate of Construction Safety Supervisor.
• Ability to use AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Project, Photoshop.
• Knowledge of Building Materials and its collation to fixture works include understanding Burberry Materials, and market pricing of local market.
• Strong command of English and Chinese. Communication skills written and oral – Communicating in cultures where English is the PRIMARY language.
• Knowledge of Local laws, regulations and relevant authority submission such as Fire safety permits etc
• Ability to manage consultants, 3rd party providers and local teams to ensure timely completion and maintenance of global standard for all projects
• Excellent Knowledge of Interior fit‐out works on luxury retail.
• Understanding of financial reconciliation of construction related costs.
• Strong management skills – to deliver multiple projects to meet business needs.
• Flexibility in dealing with and reacting to changing priorities
• Excellent judgment/sensing on contractors capacity, resources planning and allocation
